Welcome Messages
Foreword by President
Welcome to the d.school Malaysia.
The d.school Malaysia is the first and the only school of its kind that is developed and designed hand in hand by the Government of Malaysia with the Hasso Plattner Institute, Germany to offer and provide the Design Thinking education and training to Malaysians.
About 11 years ago, the Design Thinking was envisioned by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia in his effort to build Malaysia as one of the most progressive and prosperous nation in Asia and the world. As a result, d.school Malaysia was formed and introduced formally through Genovasi University College.
Since then, d.school Malaysia achievements has been impressive. d.school has become one of the Original Founders of the famed Global Design Thinking Alliance (GDTA) which includes world-renowned universities such as Stanford and London School of Economics. The d.school has become a major source of DT knowledge, techniques and support for students from all across the country and also, from abroad.
In the era of IR 4.0, I believe d.school Malaysia has tremendous roles to play in training and educating our workforce and students that formed the backbone to the Malaysia’s economy and nation building process.
I wish you the best in your future success! Thank you.

When the Prime Minister of Malaysia announced the approval, through the Ministry of Higher Education, for d.school Malaysia to establish a design thinking dedicated higher education institution, the work was cut out for d.school Malaysia and Genovasi University College to lead in the nation’s design thinking agenda.
Since then, d.school Malaysia and Genovasi University College had effectively carried out the mandate through various training activities and higher education which was made possible through Genovasi University College unique dual-mode– i.e., Conventional and Open Distance Learning (ODL) – of teaching-learning.
