Background
d.school Malaysia was launched on 1st August 2012 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia as a means to equip Malaysians with an innovation mindset using the Design Thinking (DT) methodology.

Through d.school Malaysia, the Genovasi University College was birthed and established as the Design Thinking-dedicated university by the Government of Malaysia in 2017.

d.school Malaysia @ Genovasi University is the only Design Thinking school in the ASEAN region and a leader in Design Thinking and Innovation methodologies.

d.school Malaysia is the leading regional partner of the Hasso Plattner Institut’s School of Design Thinking (HPI d.school), Germany and one of the Original Founder of Global Design Thinking Alliance (GDTA).

HPI d.school, Germany is a sister institution of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University i.e., Stanford d.school, USA and Hasso Plattner Institute of Design Thinking at the University of Cape Town i.e., d-school Cape Town, South Africa.

d.school Malaysia since inception is the Catalyst-Foundation Institution for Genovasi University College.
The Strategic Thrusts
d.school Malaysia is a learning institute that is fully dedicated to the teaching of Design Thinking for professionals across all level with its initial implementation aimed at enhancing public service delivery.

Since then, d.school Malaysia efforts have expanded to support the demand from the private sector which sees the benefits of human-centered design strategies.
